I made sesame noodles with broccoli and Gardein mandarin chicken. I prepared the sesame sauce using a sesame noodles recipe on Allrecipes.com and I prepared the "chicken" while the noodles were cooking.
Bon appetit!

Sesame noodles
1 (16 ounce) package linguine pasta
6 cloves garlic, minced
6 tablespoons sugar
6 tablespoons safflower oil
6 tablespoons rice vinegar
6 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons sesame oil
2 teaspoons chili sauce
6 green onions, sliced
1 teaspoon sesame seeds, toasted
Directions

Bring a pot of lightly salted water to boil. Add pasta, and cook until al dente, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain, and transfer to a serving bowl.
Meanwhile, place a saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir in garlic, sugar, oil, vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and chili sauce. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves. Pour sauce over linguine, and toss to coat. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Mock chicken:
Fry both sides of the chicken for about 4 minutes on each side. After both sides are cooked, add the sauce from the Gardein packet.

Brocolli:
Steam bag broccoli in microwave. Once the broccoli is done, add sea salt, pepper, and garlic to taste.

Coat noodes with sauce, add in broccoli and mock chicken. Toss and serve!

Arnold Sandwich thins 100% whole wheat. All I did was put some lettuce, a couple of slices of tomato, red onion, sharp cheddar and a little ranch and was good to go. A little celery and hummus on the side :)

Brown rice, buffalo chickenless wings, and sautéed kale. For the kale, I put a little olive oil in a pan and added minced garlic. I then placed the kale in the pan with about 1/4 a cup of vegetable broth and a few squirts of Bragg's liquid aminos.

Now THIS is what I'm talking about!!! I took those bland TJ nuggets back and exchanged them for the Morning star buffalo wings. #Winning! They are well seasoned and the taste does resemble chicken. Now if you don't like spicy, I would stay away from these. They are spicy but I love spicy food. I am extremely happy with this purchase. Thanks Morning star!!!

So I decided to try Trader Joe's chickenless nuggets. They look like chicken nuggets and have a similar consistency but have no seasoning AT ALL. They weren't awful but they definitely were bland. I'm not sure if they can really be doctored up since they're already breaded but they need a lot more than some dipping sauce. Will likely not re-purchase.

Which is better? IMO, the Morning Star crumbles are much better. I've done two lasagnas within the past month. One with the Yves crumbles and the other with Morning Star crumbles. To me, the Morning star had a better taste and tasted more like actual ground beef than the Yves. The Yves had a weird aftertaste to me, I'm not sure why. So now I know to stick with MorningStar crumbles. Their mock sausage crumbles are very good as well but are much harder to find. They carried them at the Publix near my old home but that's the only place I've ever seen them. Maybe I should call their corporate office :)

So, I saw a recipe using Gardein's Chick'n scallopini online and decided to try them out.

I didn't use the online recipe because frankly too many ingredients were involved and I am being lazy this Sunday. I just wanted to do a simple sauteed "chicken". I unthawed one fillet (4 come in a bag) and added a little onion powder, garlic, pepper, and basil. The fillet's come lightly seasoned but I am well aware that one person's classification of seasoned can be bland to another, so I didn't leave the seasoning up to chance. I added a little olive oil to a pan and sauteed the breast for about 3 minutes on each side. When I say fab, I mean it. I was so pleasantly surprised with the likeness that the scallopini had to actual chicken. The consistency was a little softer but it was very close to that of real chicken. I sauteed it enough to get just a little browning and I think that really added to the flavor. Overall, I give the product a thumbs up and will likely saute another one to take to work for lunch. I didn't want to cook more than one just in case I didn't like it, but fortunately I loved it!

I remember the first time I heard the "Frank" album and I realized Amy Winehouse is a musical genius. For her to release such a paramount album at the age of 19 was a major feat. It didn't earn all of the accolades that Back to Black received but I loved it. When I heard about her constant struggle with alcoholism and drugs, I was rooting for her to overcome. Unfortunately my wish was not granted. Amy Winehouse was found dead today at her London home. I cried and cried and cried when I first found out. Her talent is amazing and definitely a rare find. Amy, May you now have the peace you so desperately needed. You music will live on forever.

Meatless meatballs

Typically, I'm not a fan of fake meat. The ones I've tried thus far have left much to be desired. So, I had low expectations. The low expectations were replaced with excitement once I tasted my first bite. These meatballs are an EXCELLENT substitute and taste very close to actual meatballs. These are also natural and aren't filled with artificial fillers that many meat substitutes have, which is very important to me. I just baked a few in the oven to get a feel for the taste before I actually used them in a recipe. I will likely make a stroganoff pasta with these. Stay tuned...

I have sensitive, oily, acne prone skin and as I've gotten older it has become worse!!! When I was a teen, if I got a pimple, I would just put some benzoyl peroxide on it and it would go away. Now my pimples automatically scar. It is so annoying! Since I try to be as natural as possible when it comes to my skin, I decided to revisit black soap. The first time I tried it, my face acted a fool. But later I found out that black soap isn't actually black. The one I bought was so evidently some dye and additives were added which were likely the culprits of the bad reaction. I did a bit of research and now know what REAL black soap should include regarding the ingredients. Shea, coconut oil, palm oil, cocoa, plantain, and a few other extracts are ingredients in real black soap. So, I purchased two different types. One was

AAAshea black soap, which only has 4 ingredients: Shea, coconut oil, palm oil, and cocoa potash (alkaline).

I also purchased Dr. Woods black soap because the reviews were very good. It has a lot more ingredients but had many more reviews than the AAAshea and is cheaper.

I am using the AAAshea first, and my skin felt so tight and clean after I used it which I loved. Also, not much was needed to cause a nice lather. I actually squirted a little in my hand and it was way too much! I think a dime sized amount would suffice. I may have used a nickel sized amount initially. Anyway, I'm hoping to have great results from one or both of these!

So, I paid $9.99 (clearance) for this Tucker dress at Target sometime last year and decided to finally wear it today. I was browsing the website the other day and noticed that they brought the dress back this year and it's currently $39.99! Glad I snagged it then!

It came with a little sash-belt that was the same print and fabric, but I wanted to break up the pattern a bit so I added my own brown belt (The Limited).

Well, you all know I LOVE good music. You also know that I don't listen to a lot of mainstream music, I prefer neo-soul, jazz, indie, brazilian, and a few other genres that aren't typically Top 40 or played on the radio (which I rarely listen to). One of my FB friends posted a link to Amazon for the EP of the group King. I typically trust my FB friends musical taste so I clicked the link and listened to the excerpts. I IMMEDIATELY paid for the EP which includes 3 songs. I have been bumping them daily ever since. The group King is a trio of women; 2 are twin sisters, and the other young lady they met later. One of the sisters is a vocalist, and the other is the instrumentalist/producer, while their friend is a vocalist as well. If you like Foreign Exchange, Yahzarah, and artists with that type of sound, I feel you will LOVE King. Even if you have no clue who those other artists are, please check out the EP. Salmon remixed

I don't know about you all but leftovers are meh for me. Since I had another salmon fillet left, I decided to remix it by making pasta instead of eating the rice and spinach from the previous night. I boiled some bowtie pasta, and made my own little concoction for the sauce.

Sauce: Olive oil (enough to cover the pan), garlic, onion, a few squirts of lemon juice and diced tomatoes.

After I drained the pasta, I added some of my sauce to my personal serving of pasta. I then warmed up the leftover salmon fillet and cut it into pieces. Mixed together and voila!

I recently decided to become a pescetarian, for those who don't know what that is, it is a person who only eats fish for meat. I didn't eat pork anyway, but now there is no turkey, no chicken, no beef, etc... in my diet. This is the dish I made last night.

Salmon: I just used lemon pepper seasoning, onion, garlic, and a bit a lemon juice. I baked in the oven for about 45 minutes.

Rice: I boiled jasmine rice with water, salt and soy coconut milk. It had a nice sweet taste to it which I loved.

Spinach: I just put a little water in a pot and added spinach with onion and garlic. Salt and pepper to taste.

Qhemet's Moringa Tree Conditioning Ghee

How I love thee, let me count the ways...

So, I have been on a quest for an effective leave in. Well, I don't have to look any further. I am a major fan of Qhemet products, so I did not hesitate to participate in the Black Friday sale. I set my alarm for 6 o'clock a.m. and immediately rolled over to turn on my laptop. There were some glitches so the sale didn't start until 7, but trust and believe I put my order in ASAP and thankfully so because the sale was a huge success and later orders will be last to fill. As soon as I saw the box on my doorstep, I squealed with delight. I ripped into it and immediately put away all of the goodies but kept one of the conditioners out. I opened it and unfortunately spilled some (Be careful when opening, it is of a liquid consistency). Even after the seemingly massive spill, the product was still full which is one of the main reasons I love Qhemet products. They are filled to the brim. I immediately distributed the conditioner throughout my hair because it was in dire need of moisture. I clarified my hair a couple of days before so my hair was a bit dry. This conditioner completely rectified my dryness. My hair immediately softened and hours later, it was still soft! I love this condish, and it definitely lives up to the rest of the product line. Thanks Qhemet Biologics for saving my hair and yet again ending my quest for a moisturizing conditioner!

Due to Carol's Daughter no longer carrying the "You're so clean" body cleansing gel *insert side eye here*, I had to find a replacement.

Yes, I do have 1 unused bottle left as well as about 1\4 of product left in the bottle I'm currently using (As I tend to buy multiples of products I really like) but I didn't want to completely run out before finding a suitable stand in. I absolutely LOVE the way this body wash smells, the minty fresh aroma is just divine. I truly feel so clean, as the title states. But, as mentioned, it is no longer available.
I have tried Pure and Natural body wash that I purchased from Target before in the "Oatmeal and shea butter" and the "Almond oil and cherry blossom" fragrances. I liked them both. I use more natural products on my skin since my skin is sensitive. I went to Big Lots to get some cheap pens and pencils to give students and found myself on the soap aisle. I stumbled across Pure and Natural body wash in "Rosemary and Mint".

I purchased one and tried it later on that night. I fell in love. The mint aroma isn't as overt as the Carol's Daughter but I still enjoy inhaling the freshness of the wash. Also, the wash was only $4.50 at Big Lots which is a few bucks cheaper than Tar-Jay! Needless to say I went back to Big Lots the next day and purchased a few more bottles! Hey, rather be safe than stinky! :)

So out with the light hair color and onto the darker color. I used Tints of Nature in 3N, this is a permanent hair dye that I purchased from Whole Foods. It is ammonia, resorcinol, and paraben free. It also has certified organic ingredients.

My hair still is lighter in the front where the highlights were, but it's a lighter brown which I like a lot! My hair still has dimension but it's not a stark contrast as it was before.
